Berkshire Bird Paradise

NY Bird Rescue for Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Owls, Hawks, Emu, NYC Chickens and Pigeons, since 1975. Over 1200 residents and growing; most are disabled or unwanted. One of the largest Bird Sanctuaries in the country with  almost 100 different species. About 40% of the birds are permanently disabled. Custom-designed habitats are as natural as possible, allowing birds to work, climb and remain productive to the best of their abilities. 16 Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles are all disabled but doing fine. Some are breeding and raising healthy offspring that are released into the wild.

Route 2 east or west to Grafton, NY. Three miles east of Grafton Lakes State Park, turn on Babcock Lake Road (by elementry school).  Follow Babcock Lake Road 1 mile, turn right on to Red Pond Road, follow signs. Open 9 am to 5 pm seven days a week from mid-May through October. Admissions: Adults: $8, Children: $5. Group rate of $5/person. Peter Dubacher, Director.
