Adrienne J. Chamberlain

October 17, 2008 By eastwickpress

Stephentown – Mrs. Adrienne J. Chamberlain died suddenly, October 7, 2008, at her cottage home in Stephentown, NY. Born on June 6, 1949, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Adriel and Dorothy Bidwell. She was one of seven children living on the family farm in Glastonbury, CT. The family moved to Sandisfield, MA, where she graduated from Monument Mountain High School, Great Barrington, MA, in 1967. Over the course of her life, she lived in Germany and the states of Georgia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.

Many of her happiest moments were spent in raising her four children, Michael A. Moro, Stephen A. Moro and Bryan A. Gomez and family, all of Pittsfield, MA, and Kristina M. Gomez and family, of Great Barrington. Many more special moments were spent doting on her four grandchildren,  Kodi M. Sullivan, Cyrus G. Gomez, Isabella S. Gomez and Rowan Lily Boyer.

She was a natural “Pied Piper” whenever she was around children, bedazzling them with stories and songs. Her handcrafting talents were legend among family and friends. All of her fingers were “green;” she transformed the Stephentown cottage landscape into a land of vibrant seasonal colors. Each year a wide variety of vegetables were planted, with many given to friends and neighbors.

She and her husband loved to hike and bicycle throughout the surrounding countryside or anywhere where their wanderlust would take them; her sharp eyes and sensitive ears always leading to new and exciting adventures. Her love and knowledge of the natural world was a wonder to behold.

She leaves her husband, Craig J. Chamberlain, a brother, Jonathan A. Bidwell of San Diego, CA, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Wade-Pemsel of Lebanon, CT, and Mrs. Margaret Motowidlak, of Canterbury, CT, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, David L. Bidwell of San Diego, Malcolm A. Bidwell of Fayetteville, AR, and Donald E. Bidwell of  Grants Pass, OR.

For all who knew and loved her, her memory will always be present.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 19, at 2 pm at Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, telephone – 518-733-5362. Visitation will begin at 1 pm.
