Leila Frances Shaw

Hoosick – Leila Frances Shaw, 86, died Monday, October 13, 2008, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided on Potter Hill in Hoosick, NY, and was the wife of the late Robert Shaw.

 

Born May 21, 1922, in the Town of Hoosick, Leila was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Brundige) Philpott. She was educated in schools in Hoosick Falls. Leila was employed at Cluett and Peabody in Troy, NY.

Leila was a member of the Hoosick Baptist Church where she also played the organ for many years and was an active member of the Crusaders church group. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her twin sister, Leona Goodermote of Hoosick Falls, NY, and her sister, Elsie Domonie also of Hoosick. Falls, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Thursday, October 16, at 1 pm from the Hoosick Baptist Church in Hoosick. Burial will follow the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hoosick Baptist Church on Thursday from 11 am until the time of the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Baptist Church through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, New York, who are handling the arrangements.
