Dennis B. Moon

Berlin – Dennis B. “Denny” Moon, 63, of Elm Street, Berlin, NY, died on Friday evening, October 31, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT, after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, on September 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Raymond Moon and Mona Thomson. He was the loving husband of the former Patricia Wescott, whom he married in the Grafton Methodist parsonage on September 16, 1967. Denny worked several jobs during his lifetime including at the Pownal Tannery and the Van Rensselaer Manor, where he made many friends. Denny enjoyed sweeping and shoveling the sidewalks for the good people of Berlin. He could be seen with his friends at the local Stewart’s (his home away from home).

Survivors include the love of his life, Patricia Moon, his children, Jason and wife Anna Moon of Gouverneur, NY, Sarra and husband Ron Bierwirth of Petersburgh, NY, Jessica Moon of Troy, NY, Dennis and wife Marge Moon of Berlin, Tracy and husband Melvin Teal Jr. of Petersburgh, Holly Moon and Tim of Hoosick, NY, and, last but not least, Domenique (The Boy) Moon of Berlin, a sister, Audrey and husband Ron Bartus of Petersburgh, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were on Wednesday evening, November 5, at 6 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where Rev. Scott Matson of the Landmark Baptist Church officiated. Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home starting at 5 pm.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home, P.O. Box 361, Petersburgh, NY, 12138, to help the family with expenses.
