Stephentown – Joyce M. Warren, 80, of Chuckleberry Way, Stephentown, NY, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. She was a resident of the New Lebanon-Pittsfield area for most of her life.

Born December 27, 1927, in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Mildred Morgan French. Joyce was the loving wife of the late Charles J. Warren, who died on October 3, 2006. They were married in Pittsfield on November 6, 1948. Joyce was a 1945 graduate of Technical High School in Springfield and the Bishop Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield in 1948.

As a Registered Nurse, Mrs. Warren was employed by Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, and Pittsfield General Hospital. She also was the office nurse for many years for Ben Cole, MD, of Pittsfield. She also was employed at the Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield.

She attended the New Lebanon Congregational Church. She very much enjoyed humor, reading, her flower and vegetable gardens, the hummingbirds that came to visit and especially her family, near and far, close and extended.

She leaves two sons, David C. Warren and his wife Kathleen of Brookfield, NY, and Stephen A. Warren, and his wife Gale of Jamesville, NY, a daughter, Cheryl J. Brower and her husband Anthony of  Cambridge, NY, two brothers, Howard and  his wife Janice French of Richmond, VA, and Curtis French of Denver, CO, 14 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Joanne Warren.

Funeral services are on Friday morning at 11 in the New Lebanon Congregational Church, Route 20 & 22, where Rev. Trygve Tomlinson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Lebanon Springs.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care in The Berkshires, P.O. Box 572, Pittsfield, MA, 01202, in loving memory of Joyce M. Warren.
