Letter To The Editor – About Neil Gardner

November 28, 2008 By eastwickpress

Another Supporter Of Neil Gardner

To the Editor,

As a resident of Stephentown for twenty-two years, I have learned many things. Stephentown may not have as many things as other small towns, but it does have stability. And, I believe, the reason for that is Mr. Neil Gardner. Many people will think that this letter may be biased as most people in this town know that I am Neil’s goddaughter. But that is not the case at all. It is simply showing recognition of support to a man that has done great things for our town.

Neil Gardner has always put the well being of others before himself for many, many years. This town would not be as well kept as it is today without him. He deserves more gratitude and support for the great things that he has done over the years. Neil Gardner does not do the great things just to make a name for himself. And as there have been recently a small group of town people who have done nothing but ridicule and slander his actions, Neil does not need to prove himself to anybody. He has already made a name for himself in this town. A well respected name that has made people look up to him.

Neil Gardner has more perserverance and generousity to a small town than most people have in the past. And rather then striving to find that bad in somebody who has already done nothing but good things for this town, why not take the time to look at the bigger picture ahead? If there was no Neil Gardner in Stephentown, what kind of town would it be? Imagine winter with sloppy roads, the summer without the famous Friday night car shows, and no hero for our small town. Neil Gardner is about doing great things to benefit other people with nothing in return and no questions asked. That is the kind of man that he is; the man we have known for years. Neil Gardner is anything but a criminal. He is a friend to all. A husband. A father. A son. And as proud as I am to say it, my godfather.

Sincerely,

Mallorie Finney
