To the Editor:
I have read various articles in defense of Mr. Gardner. I do not know where the people get their facts that he was innocent of these charges.
Let’s back this up when all this was going down. I was at the Town Board Meeting when Mr. Cormier was trying to get paid for the gravel that came from his gravel pit. At the same time Mr. Gardner and Mr. Freeman were trying to get paid for the same gravel, that had come from “Bonded.”
I stated that night that someone was lying. All that did was prompt Mr. Gardner to point his finger at me and a couple of other people and say it was our fault for the circumstance that he was in.
Now, today, we know that the gravel did come from Mr. Cormier’s gravel pit. So who was lying that night?!? Mr. Gardner being a public official should be held accountable for his actions.
In these articles it was said Mr. Gardner did not benefit from his actions. I’ve lived in this area on and off for almost 50 years. I’ve known Mr. Gardner a long time and in the dealings I’ve had with Mr. Gardner it is clear to me that Mr. Gardner does not do anything unless it benefits Mr. Gardner.
I’m glad to be able to believe in our judicial system again.
