November 28, 2008 By eastwickpress

Lynne Mango has worked at Upsy Daisy on John St. in Hoosick Falls for 12 years. Mariea Rousseau has had the business for sale for some time. Lynne looked around at other job opportunities and decided she loved working with flowers and she didn’t want a career change. “It was an amazing opportunity,” she said. “I like the spot and the customers. I just couldn’t see it close.” Mariea will continue to work full time through the holidays and then she may go to part time. Linda O’Dell has worked for Upsy Daisy for 11 years and will continue

to work there. “We’re a nice team,” said Lynne. “We complement each other. We work well together, very well.”

Lynne and her dad had a florist shop in Sand Lake 30 years ago when she was fresh out of high school. Over the years she has attended floral seminars and taken continuing education courses. “I have a knack for it [flower arranging] and I love it!” she said.

Mariea said she was surprised when Lynne approached her. “It’s perfect!” she said. “Lynne knows the business, the customers and the community.”

Tradition Continues

Lynne is looking forward to decorating the gazebo in Wood Park for the holidays as Upsy Daisy has always done. “It’s a fun job,” she said.  Friday, December 5, is the evening of the tree lighting in the Park. Lynne will be holding an Open House in the shop that evening from 6 to 8 pm to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of her floral business.
