Ruth Marie Potter

Hoosick Falls – Ruth Marie Potter, 84, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where she had resided since April of 2007. Ruth was the wife of the late Harold Potter and formerly resided on River Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.

 

Born on January 29, 1924, in Hoosick Falls, Ruth was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nora (O’Neil) LeBarron. She was educated at schools in Potter Hill. Ruth worked at Oak Industries in Hoosick Falls until retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life-time member of the Eagles Aerie # 2467, both in Hoosick Falls. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Colleen Stratton and husband Tim of Hoosick Falls, Linda Pollard and husband Robert “Bud” of Portland, OR, Anna Church of Averill Park, NY, and Jean Smith on New Port Richie, FL, a sister, Anna Ward of Troy, NY, a brother, Leverette LeBarron of Potter Hill, seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruth is pre-deceased by two daughters, Jane Marie and Cynthia, three sisters, Lucy Williams, Minnie Luskin and Ethel Brownell, and two brothers, Raymond and Clayton LeBarron.

Funeral services are Friday, November 7, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
