School Bus And SUV In Second Critical Rt. 7 Accident In Two Days

According to the New York State Police two vehicles were totaled in an accident near the intersection of Routes 7 and 22 in Hoosick on Thursday afternoon, October 30. Preliminary reports indicate that an SUV, with a kayak on top, driven by Chauntelle Alkinburgh, 42, of Oswego, NY, was heading west when it crossed the center line and struck a school bus head on. Petersburgh. Snyder’s shoulder and neck injuries were probably caused by the kayak, said New York State Police Public Information Officer Maureen Tuffey. No students were on the bus.

 

Snyder was taken by ambulance to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Alkinburgh was airlifted to Albany Medical Center unconscious and in critical condition. She has yet to regain consciousness. Snyder was released from the hospital and remains under a doctor’s care.

The accident is being investigated by Officer Rocco Oppedisano, and a final report is expected in two or three weeks.
