Fire Prevention Program At Berlin Elementary School

On Wednesday, October 8, the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company visited Berlin Elementary School to present their annual Fire Prevention Program.  Along with visiting our pre-k classrooms, the volunteer fire fighters presented two assemblies. The first assembly was for students in kindergarten through third grade.  Students helped fire people put on their

gear. Afterwards, the students went outside to see the fire trucks and equipment.  The second assembly was for fourth and fifth grades. In this assembly, students were picked to actually put the fire gear on with the help of the volunteer fire people.  These assemblies were enjoyed by students and staff.

 

 

Fire Prevention Poster Winners

The Fire Company also held a Fire Prevention Poster Contest for first through fifth grades.  The posters were judged by Fire Company members and winners for each classroom were selected.  The winners will receive a U.S. Savings Bond.  The winning posters will be on display in the main lobby of the Berlin Branch of the Bank of America.  Congratulations to our fire poster winners.  

The following students are our poster winners ą Makenna Jansen (Mrs. Tempest 1/1), Masey Ferris (Mr. Dobbins 1/2), Seth Green (Mrs. Foody 2/2), Roark Slattery (Mr. Bourquard 3/2), Kiley Bush (Mrs. Myers 4/1), Kaleb Bush (Mrs. Healy 4/3), Jenna Dennin (Mrs. Estabrooks 4/4), Matthew Moran (Mrs. Sweeney 5/1), Alissa Babcock (Mrs. Lennon 5/3), Marissa Keeler (Mrs. Benson 5/4), Carly Kimble (Ms. Buck SC/2) and Michael Torra (Mrs. Quandt SC/3).  We are very proud of all of our students for their hard work in helping to raise awareness about fire prevention!
