At Berlin Elementary School over 90% of the students in fourth and fifth Grade are taking instrumental music lessons. Many students have begun lessons on recorders, an inexpensive plastic flute that helps beginners develop fundamental music skills. However, due to tough economic times, about 30 students cannot begin lessons on a real band instrument, such as a flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet or trombone. These students need instrument donations from the people of the Berlin School District and surrounding communities
If anyone has an instrument sitting unused in a closet or attic, etc. please consider giving it to the School District to help support our students and our growing music program. Instruments donated to the school will be evaluated and given a dollar amount. The donation will be tax deductible for the year in which it is given. To donate an instrument, or for further information, please contact Josh Greenberg at Berlin Elementary School, 658-2127, ext. 212, or email jgreenberg@berlincentral.org.
The hills are alive with the sound of music here at Berlin Central Schools, and, with your help, we can provide an instrument for every interested student.
