The Berlin Lady Mountaineers girls basketball team had no problem running to an easy victory over Central Hudson Valley League rival New Lebanon on Friday night. Lindsey DePaolis scored eight points

in the opening quarter as Berlin took a 16-2 lead. In the second quarter New Lebanon did a little better, managing to score eight points, while Berlin put in 10. DePaolis had 12 points in the first half while Angel Reed had eight points.
The second half was more of the same, with Berlin just overwhelming New Lebanon in every aspect of the game. DePaolis scored seven points in the third quarter and helped put the Mountaineers up 41-18. In the fourth quarter, it was Angel Reed who led Berlin, scoring 10 points, including 4 for 6 from the free throw line.
The Lady Mountaineers outscored the Tigers 15-2 in the final quarter to make the game’s final score 53-20. DePaolis finished with 22 points, while Reed finished with 20 points.
A Win Over Loudonville
The Lady Mountaineers then traveled to Loudonville on Monday to take on the Loudonville Christian Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles did not even put up a fight as Berlin jumped out to an easy 16-7 lead. The second quarter was the Lady Mountaineers’ best when they out ran Loudonville and outscored them 21-3, making the halftime score 37-10.
Loudonville could not stop Berlin in the second half either as Berlin seemed to score at will. In the end, Berlin won 65-25. Lindsey DePaolis had another great game, personally outscoring the opposition. She had 30 points. Angel Reed chipped in 16 in the win.
The Lady Mountaineers are now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the CHVL.
