Members of the San Damiano Franciscan Community Pantry & Family Support Services benefitted from the Mail Carrier Food Drive in Petersburgh this fall.
“We would like to thank the mail carriers and all of our wonderful residents who donated food goods, not from the “plentiful,” but from the little they could least afford in these times of hardship. I can assure them our consumers are very appreciative. One little girl came up to me and game me a big hug; so I would love to give you all a big hug for her and her family. One thing is very true, we in America always come through to share whatever we have. God bless all of you,” said Wanda DeFusco, who, with her husband, Joe, runs San Damiano, which offers services for the mentally disabled and operates a food pantry at 414 Potter Hill Road in Petersburgh. Though the Pantry serves mostly Petersburgh families, “In an emergency we offer food to people from Hoosick Falls, Berlin and Grafton,” Wanda said. For more information call 658-3530.
