Hoosick Falls – Verne A. Conquest, 55, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where he had resided since September. He formerly resided on Beckett Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife Margaret (Andrews) Conquest.
Born on May 31, 1953, in Cambridge, NY, he was the son of the late Leon and Yvette (Paulin) Conquest. He was employed at Interface Solutions in Hoosick Falls. Verne liked to hunt and fish. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors other than his wife Margaret include two daughters, Lisa Loomis and Ron and family of Shaftsbury, VT, and Michelle Morse and Scott and family of Sunderland, VT, a son, Travis Conquest of Hoosick Falls, a brother, Marty Conquest of Hudson, MA, and five grandchildren. Verne is pre-deceased by his mother-in-law Arlene Crowley.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 11, at 1 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Morgan Towslee Cemetery in Pownal, VT. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
