A Thank You From The Stephentown Food Pantry

January 30, 2009 By eastwickpress

The Stephentown Emergency Food Pantry wishes to thank all the generous people who have donated food and money this fall and winter to provide help for those in need. In addition to individual donors, we have received help from Dave’s Market, New Lebanon Supermarket, Kinderhook Creek Farm, Koepp’s Farm, Zwack, Inc., Stephentown Federated Church Men’s Group and Souper Bowl, Stephentown Community Evangelical Church, Hancock Baptist Church, United Sabbathkeepers Congregation, Stephentown Senior Citizens, Weight Watchers group, Hancock Volunteer Fire Department, S.O.S. Seniors of Stephentown, Postal Carriers’ Food Drive and Stephentown Memorial Library Food-for-Fines program. The Heavenly Quilters and the many Girl Scout troops of Stephentown, from Daisy to Cadet, helped extensively on the Thanksgiving and Christmas boxes.

The Stephentown Emergency Food Pantry provides assistance to families in need throughout the year. This volunteer group has been serving the community since 1983. Help can be reached by phoning the volunteers at 733-5278, 733-6813, 733-5923 or 733-5726. These numbers are posted in various locations around Stephentown. If you wish to donate money to help fund the pantry, you may send checks to the Stephentown Emergency Food Pantry Treasurer at P. O. Box 387, Stephentown, NY, 12168.

The pantry has a supply of canned pet food so that family pets are not neglected; call the above numbers. If your pet needs dry food and you will accept a torn bag, please contact Lynne Burns directly at 518-794-0602.
