Angela L. Watson

Hancock – Angela Lynn Watson, 26, of W. North Loop, Austin, TX, died on Sunday morning, December 21, 2008, due to injuries she received in a motorcycle accident in Austin.

 

Born in Pittsfield, MA, on March 12, 1982, she was the daughter of the late Janet Lee Watson and the granddaughter of Mabel E. Watson of Hancock, MA, and the late Kenneth A. Watson. Angie was a 2000 graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School. She was a resident of Hancock, working at Jiminy Peak Ski Resort. She moved to Groton, CT, a few years ago where she worked at the Groton Naval Base and met her future fiance, Brady Gupton. After he completed his service, they moved to his hometown of Austin earlier this year and were engaged in September. Angie was a very talented free hand artist. She attended Berkshire Community College and college in Connecticut.  She had planned to enroll in college in Austin to study psychology.

Survivors, besides her grandmother, Mabel, and her fiance, Brady, include, her aunts, Jean Louise and husband Gary Hoffman of Cherry Plain, NY, Judith Lynn Watson of Hancock, June Lorraine and Mark Sheline of New Lebanon, NY, Joanne Linda and husband Bill Barton of Cheshire, MA, and Jacqueline Lucinda Watson of Hancock and her cousins, Gregory Lawson Jr., Courtney Watson, Justin Hoffman, Kenneth M. Sheline and Sara Ann Barton.

Funeral services for Angie were held on Tuesday evening, December 30, at 7 pm in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, where Rev. Penny Rich Smith officiated. A gathering Celebrating Angie’s Life followed the service at Jiminy Peak’s Country Inn, 2nd floor. Spring burial will take place next to her mother in Hancock Cemetery.

Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday from 3 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department in loving memory of Angela Lynn Watson.
