Bowl For Hoosick Kids Raises $7,000 For Mentoring Program

Bowlers, supporters and friends of the new Hoosick Falls mentoring program, MentorWorks, enjoyed the Fifth Annual Bowl for Hoosick Kids on Saturday, January 3, at Barbecue Recreation Lanes in Hoosick Falls. Approximately 70 participants raised about $7,000 for the program, which pairs students in grades 4 through 8 with caring adults in the community. Primary sponsors of the event were Saint Gobain and WCW, Inc. The MentorWorks program is primarily funded through a U.S. Department of Education grant, administered by Hoosick Area Partnership for Parents and Youth (HAPPY). Members of the Youth Impact Team take a break from their afternoon of bowling.
