Doris H. Geerholt

Berlin – Doris Huff Geerholt, 90, of Echo Park, Berlin, NY, died on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT.

Born in Hancock, MA, on September 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Elsie Sharp Huff. She was the loving wife of the late Ralph C. Geerholt who died on December 22, 1993. They were married in the Berlin United Methodist Church on October 18, 1947. During World War II and the Korean War, Doris was an Air Force spotter in the Berlin area.

Survivors include her son, Scott D. Geerholt and his wife Betty of Winchester, KY, a granddaughter, Rachel LeAnn and her husband Joshua Durham of Ashland, KY, three great-grandchildren, Cameron Sky, Joshua Jeffrey and Tatum Lee Durham, a nephew, William Sweet, and a great-nephew, Donald Sweet. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Wesley and Evelyn.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, December 23, at 10 am in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, where Rev. Trygve Tomlinson officiated. Burial followed in the Berlin Community Cemetery.

Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for visitation on Monday from 4 to 7 pm.
