Elizabeth A. Hubbard

Petersburgh – Elizabeth A. “Betty” Sheridan Hubbard, 73, of Maxon Road, Petersburgh, NY, died on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, NY, after a long illness.

 

Born in North Adams, MA, on November 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Judy Rock Spencer. She was the loving wife of J. Mason Hubbard whom she married on June 20, 1972. Betty was educated in Petersburgh District #4 and was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School. She loved to fish and garden. Betty was pre-deceased by her first husband, M/Sgt Eugene R. Sheridan, her son, Philip S. Sheridan, a sister, Sally Spencer Hathaway, and her four-legged companion, Alf.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, J. Mason Hubbard, Town of Petersburgh Supervisor, her daughter-in-law, Linda Sheridan, her sister, Judy Spencer Rowe of Sand Lake, NY, her children. Luella and husband Peter Hansen of Boytonville, NY, John Hubbard of W. Virginia, Scott and wife Judy Hubbard and June and husband Robert Hoffman, all of Berlin, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday evening, December 22, at 7 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where Rev. Rodger White officiated. Graveside services took place on Tuesday at 10 am in the Meadowlawn Cemetery on Hewitt Road in Petersburgh.

Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for visitation on Monday from 4 until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Petersburgh Rescue Squad.
