Frances D. Corbin

Grafton – Frances D. Bonesteel Corbin, 85, formerly of Route 2, Grafton, NY, died peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2008, at Northwoods at Troy where she had been a resident since January of 2003.

 

Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Irving P. and Frances J. Dorsch Bonesteel. She was the loving wife of the late Leighton F. Corbin who died on March 29, 2003. They were married on October 23, 1941, in the Grafton United Methodist Church.

Being a life-long resident of Grafton, Frances attended Grafton School #5 and was a member of the Grafton United Methodist Church. She worked in various factories and at home as a seamstress. After raising her family, she worked at Gabriel Industries on Pawling Avenue in Troy, NY, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a former 4-H leader. Her love was that of her family.

Survivors include her children, Patricia I. Corbin, Carol A. and husband Lester King all of Grafton, a brother, Raymond L. Bonesteel, and a sister, Carolyn Bonesteel, both of Grafton, grandchildren, Linda S. King, Rebecca A. Kirchner, Amy B. Grandjean, Seth A. King, and great-grandchildren, Kylie, Noah and Ethan Grandjean. She was pre-deceased by a son, David A. Corbin, and siblings, Betty Beaudry, Chauncy P. and Margaret A. Bonesteel.

A Celebration of the Lives of Leighton and Frances Corbin was held on Sunday, December 21, at 3 pm in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, where Rev. Robert Hurd officiated. Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home on Sunday starting at 2 pm. Interment will be held at a later date in the Eagle Mills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grafton Rescue Squad in loving memory of Frances D. Corbin.
