Fun At The Veterans Hall Café

January 16, 2009 By eastwickpress

Pearl Koch, 82, is the most notorious volunteer of the Cafe. She serves up more than just coffee and the awesome baked goodies. How much is a good laugh worth? Priceless.

Pearl Koch shows off her armful of worthless watches to the patrons of the Veterans Hall Café this past Monday. She has had difficulty finding a battery for her watch so she wore them all in hopes of finding a battery for at least one. Photo courtesy of Mary Lou Walters.

In other news of the Cafe, things will be warming up. More heat is going to be shunted from the hall to the kitchen. The mystery of the Cafe elf continues. Each day the elf leaves a wonderful variety of baked goods for the Cafe. A note was received from this kind soul who identified him/herself as an ogre not an elf. The staff of the Cafe says, “No way,” and, “Thank you so much!”
