Hoosick Falls Wrestlers Are WASAREN League Champs

The Hoosick Falls Wrestling Team won the WASAREN league Championship on Saturday, January 24, defeating Granville 45-28. HF had finished second in the league the previous two years. The Panther’s last wrestling Championship was five years ago.

For the Panthers Dan Cramer won by forfeit, Billy Pine won the 112 pound match by a score of 11-9, Jacob Pearson came back from a 5 point deficit and ended up winning by a score of 11-5 and Jordan Robichaud pinned his opponent in the 130 pound contest. 

Granville won the next three bouts and took the lead, 28-18.  The Hoosick Falls Panthers won the remaining matches to seal the overall victory. At the 152 pound weight class Thomas Bass pinned Keith Gould in 1:24. Lucas Baker received a forfeit at 160 pounds. Taylor Robichaud made short work of his opponent pinning him in just 13 seconds.  Travis McMahon won a close match by a score of 2-0. In the final bout of the evening Jeremy Burns pinned Walter Foster in 4:32.
