Jerusha Wescott Jarvis was raised in Petersburgh and graduated from Berlin Central School in 1992. She married Randy Jarvis and lives in Schaghticoke now. Jerusha’s parents, Audrey Bartus and Elmer Wescott, still live in Petersburgh and Berlin respectively. Randy and Jerusha have three children, Adana, and four year old twins, Cadien and Arianna. Cadien has been diagnosed with a rare Mitochondrial Disease and is very ill.
This disease is very expensive to diagnose and treat. Cadien has had many hospitalizations and is in constant need of food supplements. Without these supplements his body cannot metabolize nutrients, and he will not be able to survive. However, all of this is very costly. Some of the needed testing is not covered by insurance. Travel costs are high. Some of the supplements can be only purchased in New York City, and Cadien will also need to travel to Ohio or Georgia for additional treatment.
To help defray some of the costs there will be a benefit “Hugs for Cadien” at Hender’sons in Schaghticoke on February 7. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction, dinner and bands. From 1 to 3 pm there will fun and games for kids. From 3 to 7 pm there will be a ziti dinner. Then the bands will start at 6 pm. Big Stones & His Rocky Past (country), Railway (country rock) and Nomads (rock and 50s) will be playing. Cadien loves to sing, and he and his twin are expected to entertain as well.
This is a wonderful opportunity to remind Jerusha that moving out of town did not move her out of our love. Please consider dropping in to bid on the wonderful auction items, including trips, paintings and products from local businesses. Or stay for the meal and music. Donations can also be made at the Trustco Bank under the account Hugs for Cadien.
