Reynolds-Gilchrest Skating Rink Opens

Weather conditions have finally cooperated and the Reynolds-Gilchrest Skating Rink is opened for the season.  Registration for skating and hockey lessons offered by Hoosick Friends of Skating will be held on Saturday, January 17, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Rink. To register, you must be at least five years of age.

Public skating rink hours are  3:30 to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday,  6:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday, Friday and Saturday,  1 to 4  pm, Saturday and Sunday. Youth Hockey – ages 5-12 – is Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Youth Hockey – ages 13-18 – is Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Stick Session  for  teenagers and adults is Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Skating Lessons are Wednesday from 5:30 to 8 pm and Saturday, 9 am to noon.

The Rink is also available for use by area schools and civic organizations.  Please contact Marilyn Douglas, Town Supervisor, at 686-4571 for more information.  Also, the Rink is always in need of skates especially adult figure and hockey skates.  Please drop off any skates that you may not be using or consider making a donation to purchase skates.  For skating rink updates, call 686-4833.
