Sara Luella Winney

Hoosick – Sara Luella Winney died on Monday, January 26, 2009, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT. She had formerly resided on Rt. 7 in Hoosick, NY.

 

Born in Troy, NY, Luella was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Vincent) Winney. She graduated from Troy High School and was employed by the State of New York as a key punch operator for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls, NY. She enjoyed taking rides and going out to dinner with her sister Georgeine, who died in 1998.

Survivors include cousins Edward and Gladys Gray and Ron Gray all of Cambridge, NY, and Janet and Kevin Michaels of Hoosick Falls. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Georgeine, and a brother, Walter Winney Jr.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 31, at 11 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge in the spring. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the start of the service.
