Chronic Illness Support Group In New Lebanon

February 20, 2009 By eastwickpress

A chronic illness support group is forming at Immaculate Conception Parish in New Lebanon. The first meeting will take place on Sunday, March 8, from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Parish Hall which is located at 732 US. Route 20, New Lebanon.

Chronic illnesses are generally considered to be those diseases or disorders that last more than six months and/or for which there are no known cures. If you are living with a chronic illness and would like to receive encouragement and support from a group of your peers, please join us. We will get together on March 8 for a light supper and introductions, with time set aside for planning our future monthly meetings. There is no charge for participating in this group, and you are welcome to bring a family member or friend.

Our gatherings are intended to provide emotional support through discussion of mutual concerns and through the gradual development of helpful relationships with others who are experiencing long term health problems or physical impairment. Mary Linton, RN, will host the gatherings. For more information, please contact Mary through the Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish Office at 518-794-7651, Mon-Fri, 10 am to 2 pm. The support group is sponsored by the Seniors’ Ministry of Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish.
