Cooper Rieman

February 6, 2009 By eastwickpress

Stephentown – Cooper Hawk Boyle Rieman, 16, left this earth peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, February 1, 2009, at his home.  He lived with grace, strength and a sense of humor and helped widen the family circle of those around him. Cooper’s life was enriched each day by so many people in his immediate and extended family, his potluck community and his school community.

Cooper was a passionate sports fan and an excellent student in the Berlin Central Schools.  He loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. He enjoyed summer music festivals, family reunions, summer camp at the Double H “Hole in the Woods” ranch for children with terminal illnesses and being with friends and teachers at school. He looked forward to Sunday potlucks and spending time with his lifelong best friend, Cole Brown Riddering.

Cooper is survived by his mom and dad, Mary Beth Boyle and Tim Rieman, his brave and beloved sister, Kali, and grandparents, Michael and Mary Shea Boyle, as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cooper’s family is deeply grateful for the love and support that has washed over them for Cooper’s sixteen years and especially at this difficult time.

The family will be receiving visitors at the Stephentown Federated Church, Garfield Road, Stephentown, NY, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2009.

A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm for family and friends at the same location with a reception following. The family welcomes donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Heifer International, or the Double H “Hole in the Woods” ranch.
