February 9 through 13 is FCCCLA Week. Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is putting on a week of activities for our community through “Motivation in Motion.”
The Berlin Chapter will be hosting an open house on Monday, February 9. Come in and discover what FCCLA is all about. Talk to our chapter advisor, Mrs. Mosher or have a member give you a tour.
On Friday, February 13, at 11:30 am the FCCLA will be hosting a senior citizen’s luncheon. The meal will be prepared by the catering class at Berlin High School, and afterwards there will be a Bingo game.
Each day of FCCLA week will be for a different cause. On Monday we are supporting heart awareness; on Tuesday we are supporting our troops; on Wednesday, Cystic Fibrosis; on Thursday, Relay for Life and breast cancer and on Friday, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We are asking for your support of these causes. On each of the days mentioned please wear the corresponding color, to show your support. On Monday wear red, Tuesday, yellow, Wednesday, blue, Thursday, purple or pink and Friday, green. Students, be sure to ask your bus drivers what you can do to give support for these causes.
To conclude the week, FCCLA will be holding it’s fifth annual Rock-a-thon on Friday February, 13. Students will rock in rocking chairs for twelve hours to raise money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, in honor of Cooper Rieman.
FCCLA’s annual talent show will be taking place on February 27 and 28. We are looking for area talent as we’re “Putting on the Ritz.” Auditions will be held throughout the week of February 9 through 13. Anyone who is interested can call Dianne Mosher at 658-2515 ex. 241, to set up an audition time.
