Fischer pinned his Albany Academy opponent midway through the second period of his first match, setting up a match, which he lost, against #1 seed and defending Section II champion David Adams from Salem. Fischer then defeated a Duanesburg wrestler to earn himself a spot in the final four.

Also doing well was Tim Chaudoin in the 285 weight class. Chaudoin beat his opponent from Whitehall by pinning him en route to a fifth place finish. He will advance to Glens Falls because one of the top four wrestlers will not participate. RJ Hebert also won his first match with an 11-6 decision before falling to eventual champion John Diekel of Whitehall. In the consolations, Hebert lost by one point to Matt Casullo of Berne Knox, ending his run for Glens Falls.
