They may be small in number, but the two dozen members of the Berlin High School drama club have been hard at work on this year’s musical The Boyfriend. While unknown to many, the Broadway version starred Julie Andrews and the movie remake starred Twiggy.
Director Dianne Mosher said that under the direction of SC Riddering, the kids are learning to Charleston and to do the Riviera, popular 1920s dances. With Karen Webster as Musical Director and accompanist, the actors have learned to sing and move to songs such as “Sur La Plage” (by the sea), “The Boyfriend” and “Fancy Forgetting.”
Lead roles of Polly and Tony are played by Ency Burhans and Nate Pomakoy. Come and enjoy a Roaring 20s performance March 20 and 21 at 7 pm in the Berlin High School auditorium. For reserved seats or more information, call 658-2515 ext. 241.
