Brownell And Goodermote Receive Support In Berlin

March 6, 2009 By eastwickpress

The team of Rensselaer County Legislators Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote will be visiting communities in the Fifth Legislative District as they prepare to seek re-election this year.

The two legislators have placed a priority on staying close to the five towns in their legislative district. With that in mind, Brownell and Goodermote will be visiting the five towns in the district, Hoosick, Petersburgh, Grafton, Berlin and Stephentown to personally ask for the Republican nomination for re-election.

Brownell and Goodermote met with leaders of the Republican party in Berlin on March 2 to seek their support for re-election. Members of the Town party said they plan on enthusiastically supporting the Brownell-Goodermote legislative team.

“Whenever we call on Stan and Les, they are there for us. That means a great deal for those of us in Berlin and eastern Rensselaer County,” said Ralph DeLeon, incoming Berlin Republican Town Chairman.

Berlin Supervisor Robert Jaeger and Councilman Carl Greene also attended the Berlin meeting, which included County Executive Kathleen Jimino and representatives from other Republican committees in the district. The meeting was well-attended, despite a snowstorm that evening.

“We appreciate the kind words and support of our friends in Berlin. During our service as legislators, we have made an effort to stay close to the grassroots, and it makes sense that we start our re-election effort by reaching out to each of the communities in our legislative district,” said Brownell.

“Eastern Rensselaer County is one of the most beautiful and vibrant areas in the county and upstate New York. We are privileged to represent this area and look forward to the opportunity to continue serving residents of the district,” said Goodermote.

Following their visits to communities in eastern Rensselaer County, Brownell and Goodermote said they plan on formally kicking off their re-election bid in spring.
