On Saturday the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Dept. served 331 corned beef dinners at their 11th annual event. The Department would like to thank everyone who came out to make it a success including Dave’s Market, the Eastwick Press and the local girl scouts who came out to sell cookies.
It was a busy day for the department. While cooking the dinner, some members were dispatched to an EMS call, and just as they were cleaning up from the dinner they were dispatched to a structure fire. Fortunately the structure fire was not serious.
Upcoming SVFD events include the annual Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, April 18, and the annual Block Dance on July 11. Anyone interested in donating homemade pies for the roast beef dinner is encouraged to contact any Department member, or call the station, 733-5151, on Monday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.
