Donald A. Quinn, Jr.

New Lebanon – Donald A. Quinn, Jr., 66, formerly of New Lebanon, NY, died on Monday at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY, after a long illness. He had been residing at Evergreen Nursing in Plattsburgh and at Green Manor Nursing in Ghent, NY.

 

Born December 24, 1942, he was the son of Donald A. and Esther Mace Quinn, Sr. He was the husband of the former Beverly A. Pratt, whom he married on April 18, 1964. He attended schools in Keeseville, NY, where he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960. Donald served in France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain. He retired from the Recruiter Station in New York City in 1980. He moved to Kittery, ME, and was employed by the Kittery Trading Post until his illness in 1981. He and his family moved to New Lebanon, and Don attended the Church of Our Saviour.

Survivors, besides his wife, include his children, Donald A. Quinn III of New Lebanon, Kimberly Brown of Lebanon Springs, NY, and Melinda Quinn of New Lebanon, his grandchildren, Brittany Lee Quinn, Heather Nicole McIntosh, Carlie Marie Quinn, Joey Gaudette and Charles Gerald Bingham along with his siblings, Ronald and Jesse Quinn, Lou and Ramona LaClair, Mary Moran and Diane Douglas. He was pre-deceased by a brother, William.

Graveside services with full military honors were Thursday, March 12, at 11 am in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Lebanon Springs where Rev. Canon Clinton Dugger officiated. Relatives and friends were invited to the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm for visitation.
