Lars “Peter” Jansen

Berlin – Lars “Peter” Jansen, 39, of 25th Street, Troy, NY, died on Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born in Bennington, VT, on July 12, 1969, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Theresa E. Amidon Jansen, Sr. Peter was a 1990 graduate of Berlin Central High School and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Berlin, NY. At the time of his death he was employed by Riverside Enterprises in Troy. Peter was a member of the Rensselaer County ARC. He loved bowling, camping and Yankee baseball. He was an avid follower of country and western music, recently seeing Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson in concert.

He is survived by his siblings, Robert L. and Mary Jansen, Jr., Kurt M., Lori R. and Timothy B. Jansen all of Berlin, Eric S. and wife Nenita Jansen of Friendswood, TX, Corey E. and wife Cristy Jansen of Silverdale, WA, Caren L. and husband Bill Alderman of Berlin, and Michele A. Francello of Brasher Falls, NY, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Kenneth Gregory on Friday, March 20, at 10 am in the Sacred Heart Church, Main Street, Berlin. Burial will follow next to his parents in the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery in Berlin.

Relatives, friends and members of the Rensselaer County ARC are invited to visitation at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday. For online guest registry or directions, please visit www.thomasmbarber.com.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rensselaer County ARC, 79-102nd Street, Troy, NY, 12180, in loving memory of Lars “Peter” Jansen.
