Valentines For Vets

March 13, 2009 By eastwickpress

Nancy Galvin’s Questar III pre-k class at the Berlin Elementary School made Valentines for Veterans. This has been a project that Nancy’s pre-k classes have been doing for the last ten years. The Valentines will be delivered to the Veterans at the Albany, VA by Captain Dave Huskie. Captain Huskie is retired from the Army and is an RN at the Veterans hospital in Albany. We hope that the Veterans will enjoy the Valentines as much as we enjoyed making them.

The pre-k program is a collaborative program between the Berlin Central School District, Questar III and Capital District Beginnings. Families living in the District who have a child that will be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2009, are encouraged to contact the District at 658-3450 or 733-5454 to ensure that their child is part of the District survey.  Kindergarten registration for 2009-2010 school year is also underway.  If you have a child who will be five years of age on or before December 1, 2009, please call the District at the numbers listed above.  Proof of residency is required prior to admission.
