On Sunday, March 8, Joe Wolfrum of the Hoosick Falls Central School bowling team, bowled for the Section II team at the New York State Bowling Championships held in Rochester. The team finished in fifth place out of ten sections across the State. The Championship was won by Section 6 of the Western region, followed by Section 8 of the Nassau region and Section 3 of the Central region.
Wolfrum had the third highest single game on the team with a 235 and the fifth highest six-game total of 1,078. Steve Black, of Lansingburgh, led the team with a high game of 248 and a six-game total of 1,307 which was the fifth highest total for the tournament. “As a ninth grade bowler on the Section II team, Joe gained valuable experience for future years to come,” said Coach Bob Lang.
