All TV is passive, sedentary and non-experiential. The purpose of National TV Turn Off Week is to leave behind judgements about the quality of television and focus instead on creating, discovering, building, participating and doing. Tween Night
Come join us for our monthly Tween Night for 10-14 year olds. This month will feature Bingo, Karaoke, board games, pizza and refreshments. Bring your friends on Friday, April 17, at 6:30 pm.

Berkshire Taconic Native Plants Program
Nina Marks of Sexto Sol will give a presentation on Berkshire Taconic native plants at the Library on Sunday, April 19, at 2 pm in the SML Community Room. Landscape designer Nina Marks was born and raised in Great Barrington, MA. In 2005, she founded Sexto Sol, utilizing rare native, medicinal and edible plants to integrate human and wildlife habitat within the compass of traditional landscaping concerns. Bring your questions and join us for this exciting presentation.

Informal Poetry Slam
April is National Poetry Month and the Stephentown Library is calling all poets and poetry fans to celebrate with an evening of poetic performance. Bring your original works of poetry or bring along a favorite poem to share. We will have our poetry section on display also. This is a non-competitive and fun event for all ages. Join us on Monday, April 20, at 7 pm for an evening of fun and creativity.
Riverway Storytelling Festival
A free storytelling event with storytellers Kate Dudding and Alan McClintock. Celebrate Earth Day with Stories from Near to Far on Wednesday, April 22, at 7 pm in the Library Community Room. This program is suitable for all ages. This project is sponsored by the Upper Hudson Library System. Space is limited; please call ahead for a reservation.
Family Board Game Night
The Stephentown Library will be the happening place in town with board games for the whole family to enjoy. We have a large selection of games but also invite you to bring your favorites from home. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served. Join the fun on Thursday, April 23, at 7 pm.
Jewelry From Recycled Computers
Get creative and make hardware into “hotware.” We will have some old computers on hand to tear down and use parts to craft creative jewelry creations. For 9-12 grade students. Refreshments will be served. Bring your friends on Saturday, April 25, at 6 pm.
SML Unplugged
Gather you singers, songwriters, musicians and poets! Artists of all ages are welcome to join our monthly Open Mic event on Sunday, April 26, at 1 pm. Show off your talents or come to listen. This is a great opportunity to hear some terrific local talent. Last month featured bluegrass music and some cool jazz.
Computers For Beginners
On Monday, April 27, at 10 am Farid Gruber will help new computer users understand how to use their computer and get connected to the internet. If you know someone who will benefit from this class, help spread the word and invite them to join. Please call ahead to register, as space is limited.
