Food For Fines
Put your library fines to work for the community. During National Library Week (April 13-18), the New Lebanon Library will exchange Food for Fines. Fines for overdue materials, regardless of the amount, will be cleared from your record at a rate of one fine for one returned item per food item donated. Unopened and unexpired cans, jars, boxed and packaged foods are welcome. Perishable items cannot be accepted. Only overdue items – not lost or damaged items – are eligible. All food donations will be forwarded to Charlie’s Pantry for distribution to needy families in and around New Lebanon. So celebrate National Library week by clearing your conscience and benefiting your community at the same time.

Jazz Program To Benefit The New Lebanon Library
The hills surrounding New Lebanon will be alive with the sound of cool jazz on Saturday, April 18, from 6:30 to 9 pm when saxophonist/drummer Allen Livermore, bassist Pete Toigo and guitarist Dan Rothstein perform at the Triple Nickel in New Lebanon. There is a $25 admission and a cash bar.
The program will benefit the Library Construction Project fund raising effort which is, according to Fundraising Committee Chair Brenda Adams, “within $50,000 of our $500,000 goal for the final phase of the project. The entire Board is excited that Allen, Peter, Dan and the Triple Nickel will help us move closer to transforming blueprints into a much needed community resource.” Eloise Trainor and Kay McMahon, owners of The Triple Nickel echoed the same sentiments, “We are always very proud to support the Library, and this Jazz event is another fun way to bring the community together.”
The Triple Nickel is located at 555 State Route 20/22, located 1/8 mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20 and 22. For further information about this event, contact 794-6150.
