Beverly E. Jones

Hoosick – Beverly E. Travis Jones, 73, of Spicer Road, Hoosick, NY, died on Wednesday morning, April 29, 2009, at her residence under the care of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County surrounded by her loving family.

 

Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, on October 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Travis. She was the loving wife of Jerry J. Jones, whom she married on June 27, 1954.

A lifelong resident of the Hoosick area, Beverly attended Hoosick Falls High School and, as a child, First United Church of Hoosick Falls. In her early years she raised her family and was a homemaker. She worked as a Department Manager for W.T. Grants in Bennington, VT, and retired in 1994 from the RPI Fieldhouse. She loved knitting, sewing, crocheting and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerry, her children, Jerry J. Jones, Jr. and his wife Sherry and Deborah Jones all of Pittstown, NY, and Frank A. Jones of Troy, NY, a brother, Robert Travis of Schenectady, NY, her grandchildren, Jamey and Jodie Slick, Ariel and Joshua Dayton-Gill and Tia Jones, and a great-grandchild on the way. She was pre-deceased by a daughter-in-law, Debby Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to Beverly’s funeral services on Friday at 7 pm in the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home, 72 Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Visitation will start at 4 pm on Friday. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the Hoosick Rural Cemetery, South Road, Hoosick.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY, 12144.
