Cropseyville – Denis Harrington, 54, of Rt. 2, Cropseyville, NY, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Troy, NY, after struggling with a severe illness.
Born in Round Lake, NY, on June 7, 1954, he was son of the late Paul Harrington and Joanne  Kellogg Harrington. He built a home in Grafton where he resided while owning another on Roquette Lake.
He was a man of the outdoors and worked in the construction field most of his life and did picture puzzles on his down time. His favorite and most beloved places were horse racetracks. He worked at the Saratoga Race Course for 13 years in many different capacities, from directing traffic to working at the Gate B horse crossing. He loved every aspect of horse racing – the people, the horses, the betting and the atmosphere.
He is survived by his oldest daughter, Samantha J. Harrington and her fiancé Daniel Bell, and his youngest daughter, Katie B. Harrington.
Funeral services were held Wednesday evening, May 6, at 6 pm at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, with Rev. Michael Crandall officiating.
Relatives and friends called at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm.
Interment will be in  Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke, NY.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospital and Seton Health Palliative Care Program, for they became a significant part of Denis’ life in the past few years. “You are wonderful professionals with caring motives and hearts. You have helped him and our family through it all. Thank you.”
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Denis Harrington to the Seton Health Foundation for Palliative Care, P.O.
