It was senior night for the Berlin Lady Mountaineers, and they were not going to lose in their final home game of the season.

Doane Stuart made the long drive out to Berlin, and the Mountaineers jumped all over them from the very beginning. The Lady Mountaineers took advantage of several errors and scored seven runs in the first inning.
Erin Berschwinger took care of business on the other end for Berlin as she did not allow a Thunder Chicken hit until the top of the fifth inning. She struck out six and walked none. Berlin exploded again in the third inning, sending 19 batters to the plate. Fifteen runners crossed the plate, giving Berlin a 22-0 lead. The inning was highlighted by home runs by Brittany Spaniol and Kasey Day. After adding one more run in the bottom of the fourth, the game was called after the top of the 5th inning due to the mercy rule. Berlin won 23-0.
Berlin’s two seniors played well in their final home game. Amanda Oligny was 2-4 and scored three runs. Kasey Day was also 2-4 with a single and a home run. She scored two runs and had four RBIs. Victoria Muller also went 3-4 with three runs scored.
