The Little Sisters of Hoboken once again take to the Hoosick Falls Central School stage in a return engagement of the ever-popular musical comedy Nunsense. As previously, this show is presented by the Hoosick Falls Teachers’ Association for the entertainment of the audience and the benefit of the HFTA Student Scholarship Fund.
The faculty cordially invites members of the community and surrounding areas to join Reverend Mother (Leslie Green) and Sister Hubert (Michelle Culver) as they attempt to guide their Order’s somewhat eccentric, sometimes irreverent group of nuns and novices. Under their supervision, the “most talented” among them struggle to raise funds to bury their dead – untimely and unsuspecting victims of the convent cook’s tainted soup.
The journey to spiritual reward is disrupted by some surprising twists and turns, created by the unconventional behavior of Sisters Robert Anne (Nora Senecal), Amnesia (Lia Nielsen), Julia (Patti Zilinskas), Leo (Jenny O’Connor) and Wilhelm (Sheryl Rifenburg). Accomplices in the on and off stage antics are the convent’s novices (Sara Bender, Katie Brownell, Susan Herrington), Father Virgil (Tony Malinowski) and musical director Brother Steinway (Bill Brown).
Please join everyone for a fun filled evening of music and laughter in support of student scholarship. Performances begin at 7 pm on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9. All tickets are $5 at the door.
A Note to Parents: Nunsense is a very funny musical comedy containing several suggestive lines that add to the entertainment but in no way dominate the humor.
