For over 20 years writer/photographer Paul Clermont has been sharing with words and pictures in newspapers and magazines his observations and experiences of life in the Berkshires and beyond. In his book, Beyond the Berkshires, he offers a collection of over 80 stories and dozens of photographs.
He takes the reader from a favorite swimming spot to the local poolroom. There are narratives of Friday nights at the local movie theatre and Saturday night high school dances. The fear and fun of raising children are chronicled with affection and incidents that any parent can relate to. For everyone who grew up in a small town, and for those who didn’t, here is the essence of America in the late `50s and early `60s.
Paul Clermont will be reading from his book at the Berlin Free Town Library on Thursday, May 21, at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served. This reading is sponsored by The Friends of the Berlin Library.
