Stephentown Historical Society: Recollections Of Taking Woodstock

May 29, 2009 By eastwickpress

Anyone who participated in the filming of “Taking Woodstock” is invited to share that experience with the audience at the Stephentown Historical Society meeting on Monday, June 1.  The meeting is at 7:30 pm at the Heritage Center on Garfield Road (County Route 26) in Stephentown. It is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. For directions, telephone 518-733-5675.
The film “Taking Woodstock,” a story of the history-making 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival, was filmed in part in Stephentown and Columbia County during 2008. It will be released on August 14, 2009.
Many local people had a part to play, from being an extra, driving a vintage car, catering or providing a location or props. They are welcome to come and share their stories, bring their photos or mementos and recollect what is was like when Ang Lee and his team brought Hollywood to town.
