Summer Dance Classes At Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall

Sharon O’Brien, owner of “Sharon’s Bodies in Motion Professional Dance Studio” located on Pawling Avenue in Troy will be teaching dance lessons this summer at PVMCC. She is a graduate of The Hartford Conservatory of Music & Dance. O’Brien is one of the only teachers in the Capital District to have a dance pedagogy degree. Currently, her Troy dance studio is celebrating its 12th year in business. Over 70 students will be receiving awards at the annual dance recital which is held at Tamarac High School.
O’Brien was the dance director/choreographer/dancer of the Albany Firebirds “Fabulous Flames” dance team as well as the Albany Conquest “Treasures” dance team. Most recently, she was crowned Mrs. New York 2004 and competed in Las Vegas in the Mrs. United States Pageant.
Beginning Thursday, June 18, dance classes will be held at the Veterans Memorial Hall between 4:30 and 7 pm. The tentative class schedule is as follows: Teens Hip-hop/Jazz will meet from 4:30 to 5:15 pm, Ages 3-5 Tap/Ballet will meet from 5:30 to 6:15 pm and Ages 7-10 Hip-Hop/Jazz will meet from 6:15 to 7 pm.
The cost is $50 for five Thursday classes. To receive more information as well as a registration form please contact Sharon at 273-7486. Class sizes are limited. Register early to guarantee your spot in the dance class.
