Tigers Softball Beats Up On The Mountaineers

May 8, 2009 By eastwickpress

by Ryan Mosher
The New Lebanon softball team had little problem putting away the Berlin Lady Mountaineers on the diamond on Monday afternoon.  After going down in order in the first inning, the Lady Tigers batted through the lineup in the second, taking a 6-0 lead. New Lebanon never let up either, scoring in every remaining inning. With a 15-0 lead headed into the final inning, it looked as if they could record the shut out. Berlin battled back, not wanting to be shut out on their home field. Shayla Morris and Michelle Schleimer scored in the final inning to ruin the shut out.  The Lady Mountaineers could not plate any more runs and fell 15-2.
Geneva Furlano led New Lebanon, going 3-4 with two runs scored.  Rachel Farrell went 2-3 with three runs scored.  Emily Dooley led Berlin at the plate, going 3-4.
