BCS Students Studying Science In The Summer

Middle school students from the Berlin Central School District will be spending part of their summer continuing to study science programs at various colleges and programs. Students will experience hands on lab activities, explore the newest technology, and make new friends.
Sixth-graders Hannah French, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald French of Cherry Plain, and Timothy Shupe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shupe of Berlin, will be attending the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Science Camp at

RPI for two weeks. Students live on campus and learn about programs on campus, with an emphasis on the newest program, Astrobiology, a NASA initiative.
Seventh-graders Kaitlyn Goodermote, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Goodermote of Petersburgh and Sadie Jayne Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hoffman of Petersburgh, will be traveling to Clarkson, an engineering college, to participate in “Horizons” a program that will focus on Science and Engineering  opportunities for women.
Eighth-graders Kelsey O’Dell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry O’ Dell of Petersburgh and Whitney Woolley, daughter of Mr. Mark Woolley and Mrs. Laura Sicko of Cherry Plain will also be attending the “Horizons” program at Clarkson. Kelsey is returning for her second summer.

Eighth-grader Thomas Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Crawford of Berlin, will be attending Tech Camp, sponsored by Questar, to explore emerging technologies in the Capital District.
