Walk into the Grafton Town Hall and everything looks fresh. The renovations were accomplished with a $45,000 grant from former NYS Senator Joseph Bruno. “The whole purpose of the grant,” said Town Supervisor Allison Kirchner, “was to make the bathroom ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) compliant.” Railings and a ramp into the meeting room have also been

installed. The wider foyer has a new slate porcelain floor and wainscoting similar to what was installed in the meeting room two years ago. The largest wall is bare at the moment. Grafton Historical Society member Anne Kiely said there will be an official ceremony on July 15 to rehang the recently restored large authentic anti-rent war flag in that spot. After the ceremony a round table discussion on the anti-rent movement will take place.
