HFCS Sixth Grade Science Fair Awardees

June 11 found the Hoosick Falls High School cafeteria filled with friends and family of sixth grade Science Fair participants. Weeks of hard work on the part of these students and their teachers culminated with the announcement of the winners that evening.
First Place was awarded to Kealan Hitt for his study of various fertilizers.  The Second  Place winner was Shane Barss for his work with various visual after-images. Rachel Pine was the Third Place winner. Rachel did work with a wind turbine. Honorable Mention awards were given to Max Haar, who measured the effect that music has on blood pressure, Jeremy Danner, who studied the energy efficiency of various radios, and Shayne Richard, who determined the best cleaning product for removing ink stains.
Special thanks to sixth grade science teacher, Mrs. Sutton, for organizing the event and to the High School Science teachers Mrs. Antolick, Mr. Bailey and Mr. Van Arsdale who served as judges.
